Filmed off Montauk on June 6, 2026, “From Waste to Water” brings together Ofer Vicus, co-founder and CEO of Aduro Clean Technologies; Don Garber, Commissioner of Major League Soccer; and Rob Mitchell, Vice President of Development and Strategy at AstroTurf.

Out on the water, Ofer starts pointing out the plastic all around the boat, from the radio and the windshield to the tackle and the safety gear, until the boat itself becomes part of the conversation. If plastic is woven into modern life, what should happen to it once we’re finished with it?

With Don and Rob aboard, the conversation reaches into sport as well, from the materials used on the field to how whole industries think about what comes next. Aduro and AstroTurf have announced a collaboration to evaluate recycling pathways for plastics recovered from end-of-life synthetic turf.

The day ends in East Hampton, where the catch becomes dinner and the conversation carries on around the table.
